My career as a translator grew out of my enthusiasm for comics and graphic novels. My first published project was a piece of graphic fiction for Words Without Borders, followed soon thereafter by numerous projects for Europe Comics and other publishers. Translating graphic novels demands close attention to varieties of oral language, and sensitivity to the interplay of word and image. This is also true of film subtitling. Here are some examples of my work in these fields.
